The villainous Prince Fujiyata, aka “The Black Dragon”, is killing off archaeologists in search of an Aztec codex that will lead him to a hidden treasure. The wrestling women Loreta Venus and Golden Rubi come to the aid of Dr. Trelles, the last survivor of the expedition that found the codex. Together they enter a pyramid in search of the treasure, but in doing so awaken the mummy of Temozoc, an Aztec wizard buried there centuries ago.
Wow, what a disappointment. I’m a huge fan of wrestling/horror movies, but this one was too much even for me. Even “El Robot Vs. La Momia Azteca” is more interesting than this. Basically, this is a sequel to “Las Lobas Del Ring”, featuring the same good girl wrestlers. They’re still beautiful, but the wrestling scenes seem a little more awkward this time, especially since the evil wrestlers are two karate bitches. And the two styles don’t mix well, I assure you. I was also kind of confused with Prince Fujiyata, the main bad guy. His name is Japanese, but he dresses and acts like a Chinese Fu-Manchu type. Somebody has his cultures crossed! The movie picks up a bit when the mummy plot comes in. We’re first treated to a flashback in Aztec times, which I figure is stock footage from another movie. The mummy is tall and imposing, however the face has a weird open gape for a mouth which ruins any kind of scares the mummy could have been. So I leave you with this: the Mexican horror/wrestling genre kicks mayor ass, but this particular entry really sucks.
