The Amazing Transplant

What can I say about Doris Wishman that hasn’t been said before? She has her lovers, she has her haters, but it can’t be denied that she’s one of the giants in the exploitation business, forwarding such genres as the nudie cutie, the nudist film and the roughie, and even dabbled in pornography and slasher horror with the surreal “A Night To Dismember”. This is one of her most interesting efforts, featuring her usual melodrama. It deals with a private investigator Bill Barden, who’s on the lookout for young man Arthur Barlen, who has been murdering and sexually molesting women all over the place. It so turns out that he’s doing this because he got a “penis transplant” from his best friend/possible lover who was a gigolo. I don’t know what to say, I mean, it’s not exactly negative but it’s so insane that you have to wonder if Ms. Wishman ever smoked pot, I don’t care if she looks like a nice old lady in her interviews this woman had a mind that has to be examined. The women are as boring as you can imagine, all pretty but forgettable, but at least they all get naked. Not a bad movie, but not one of Wishman’s best.
